Tourism Development & Runner

Hi, I'm Alex Jeffries. I run Passport Creative, a tourism development consultancy based in Paris. Since 2020, I've been working with destinations and tour operators across the South Pacific, Asia, and Africa on projects that help create more meaningful and sustainable travel experiences.

My work focuses on the kind of tourism that gets people to slow down and spend more time where they're going. I specialize in market access for tour operators, destination branding, sentiment analysis, and tourism policy development. Recent projects have included market segmentation in Tonga, digital tourism analysis in Eswatini, and national tourism policy development in Sri Lanka.

Before transitioning to tourism development, I spent over a decade in television production, including five seasons as a senior producer on The Real, where I helped grow the show and won NAACP Image Awards. I made the career change in 2020 to focus on work that aligns more closely with my passion for travel and cultural exchange.

When I'm not working on tourism projects, I'm usually running through the streets of Paris. I've completed the Paris Marathon three times and have the ambitious (perhaps impossible) goal of eventually running every street in the city. Running helps me think through complex problems and provides a different perspective on the places I work with and visit.

I believe in the power of thoughtful travel to create understanding between cultures and support local communities. Whether through my consulting work or my writing, I'm interested in how we can make tourism more beneficial for everyone involved.
